Not Okay

It really is okay to not be okay. It’s okay to fall apart a little, or a lot; to be messy and broken, to not have the perfect words or sentiments to express. It’s okay to not have your act together, to barely be holding on by a thread. There is nothing more to do in these moments but to let go, to surrender to the not okay; to stop holding it all together. Release the tears that have been held at bay, scream the primal screams that have been locked down deep, finally acknowledge the not-okay-ness. By surrendering to the truth, the heart can find its rhythm, the lungs can take in breath and body can curl into spirit to tend itself. This is okay.
