Julie G. Kays, LCPC, NCC (she/her) is the owner and therapist behind Elegy Counseling.
A licensed professional counselor and certified grief educator, Ms. Kays is committed to helping others face the most painful aspects of living and dying. After years spent working in hospice, Ms. Kays established Elegy Counseling to help people in the community work through grief related to all life losses and transitions. She has worked in the non-profit and health care sectors for the last 25 years as a teacher, clinician, program manager and consultant. Ms. Kays holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bucknell University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Loyola University Maryland’s Pastoral Counseling Program. A sought-after speaker and community educator on topics of grief, loss, and the healing arts, Ms. Kays brings to her work a passionate commitment to helping others fully face the pain of living and in doing so, hopes to empower grievers to grow deeper into their humanity. Behind all her work is a firm belief in the resiliency of the human spirit and that suffering is not only survivable, but transformative.
