Crossing the Threshold

January came like a breath of fresh air, calling us out of our winter slumber with its promise of fresh starts and new beginnings.

Yet, like Janus – the two-faced Roman god that is January’s namesake – I feel pulled in opposite directions.  While ready for change and new direction, I am also called into wintering time when the dark quiets us into contemplation.

Maybe January isn’t so much a time for action as it is a time of continued preparation, allowing the seeds of new aspirations to germinate until we are ready to cross the threshold with them.

A visual representation comes to mind of the seed germination until birth at spring. I am wintering and finally, today, accepted that it is ok!!! Pondering my word for 2024, thinking a theme of release!!! Take care😘
